Toshiba Satellite A505-S6960 Specifications

If you are on a budget and you want to buy a performing and also not too expensive laptop, an option would be that of choosing the new Toshiba Satellite A505-S6960. This laptop offers better capabilities than the other Toshiba laptop of its class, the Toshiba Satellite P505-S8930, for only $100 more.

The screen’s resolution reaches 16 inches, which is wide enough to play all your media files without being uncomfortable.

Toshiba Satellite A505-S6960 uses the same Fusion Finish with black onyx print. The speakers work very good, better than other budget limited laptops available on the market. The keyboard is not as good as the rest of the laptop, the keys being a bit slick, thanks to the glossy appearance of the whole Toshiba Satellite A505-S6960. This design has an overall attractive appearance, and it suits well its inner capabilities. The case of the laptop is very resistant, and it doesn’t look boxy either, while the battery requires a little bit more room and adds more weight to the laptop.

The native resolution of the screen is 1,366 x 768, while the display has an LCD technology, for a more crisp and clear image. The colors, contrast and brightness are great, and the screen is wide enough for multitasking, or movies and videos watching.

How To Restore Wifi In Vista Toshiba Laptop

The two latest operating systems from Microsoft had their share of problems right from the beginning. When Vista on 64 bit came out, it was one of the most unstable OS ever made by Microsoft. Over the time, Microsoft has repaired the damage, but you can still find older editions of Vista that can make you trouble. When they realized that the image damage made by Vista, Microsoft didn’t bother to repair them all, they started working on Windows 7. The problem now is that windows 7 promised all the Vista had to offer and more, but the first editions were full of issues. So, many computers that came equipped with Vista gave big headaches to users; even with upgrades to Windows 7, many came across some of the same problems.

One of the issues that we encountered was the WiFi connection. The thing is that we realized that this problem was generated by bad software (not the king of bad software like viruses or Trojans, but malfunction of the OS or installed drivers). The first thing you have to know is that both Vista and Windows 7 are 64 bit operated OS. That being said, you have to look for 64 bit drivers.

When dealing with WiFi problems you will find a pop up message that sounds like this:” Intel R PROSet/wireless Event Log Service stopped working and was closed”. Before any big changes on the software part of your computer, you are advised to make a back up copy of your disk configuration. Now, the first thing you should do for restoring WiFi in Vista is reinstalling the drivers: Intel Wireless LAN Driver for Windows (64bit) and   Intel Proset for Windows Vista (64bit).

After you reboot, you will see if the changes you made work. If they don’t, we will try another thing. Go to Control Panel on the programs and features icon and uninstall the Intel Proset utility. After reboot, download and install Intel Proset For Windows Vista on 64 bit. This should fix the problem, because there are no further things you can do. More drastic measures for restoring WiFi in vista on Toshiba laptops include reinstalling the entire software of the laptop. Many have tried upgrading Vista to Windows 7. It’s true that Windows 7 is a more complex operating system, but this didn’t do the trick for most. Actually, any solution is not guaranteed to work. When you are doing changes to your computer, you don’t really know what is going on inside the software processes.

If you don’t use the wireless connection and the only thing that is bothering you is the pup up message:” Intel R PROSet/wireless Event Log Service stopped working and was closed” you can remove it simply. Go into Msconfig and stop the program to run in startup. For doing this, you have to enter Run from the Start menu, type MSCONFIG, Click on the services tab and find the one for the Proset event log and uncheck it. When you click OK the changes have been made.

Many conflicts occur in the complex operating systems, that is why many recommend the simple OS like Windows XP or even Linux versions because they are more stable and they do the job as well. The difference between these and the more complex OS is the amount of gadgets, but not all of them can be used by common users. They are more intended for programmers and engineers. Even here it becomes tricky because it’s hard to make software on 64 bit.

Toshiba Laptop Won’t Power On

Can you get that? My Toshiba laptop won’t power on!

Why?

What can I remember?

Oh, it was like a million years ago. I think it was yesterday. I took my monthly payment and ran to the shop to buy myself a new laptop because the other one just wouldn’t power on.  I bought one and since I’ve found like the cheapest laptop in the universe I ran home opened the package and when powering the new Toshiba Laptop on, it just didn’t start.

The next thing I remember doing was calling the number from the shop but they were already closed. I had to wait until the next day.

Man, it’s been such a long night. My head is hurting. I remember walking to the club. Such a place full of  people and so much smoke. I am not a smoker myself but I love drinking. This night would have been the perfect one to shed tears for my unluckiness.

Firstly I had 2 shots of whisky and suddenly I saw a blonde guy with green eyes approaching. Man, he was so hot. Couldn’t stop looking at him, admiring such a beauty God made. I think few minutes passed and I’ve woke up with him near me, trying to flirt.  I guess I was so drunk and not in the mood and I’ve started telling him my problems. He took me on a sofa and he told me that he was an engineer and he has been in the same position many times. Was he flirting with me or he was really trying to consulate me? I can’t know because I’ve started drinking more and more trying to drawn my sorrows. Even now I can remember his looks all over my body just like he was feeling pity. Oh, I never liked that look on anybody’s face. Started drinking even more so that I could forget about myself and the last thing I remember was grabbing his shirt, bringing him closer.

Oh, God what have I done?

Where am I? I could just put my pillow over my face, but would that solve anything?  Then I heard a strange voice. Oh No! It’s him. So I really did a messy thing. Then I hear hdis voice again.

“Okay sweetheart, you’re all done!” Oh, I can’t look! What does he mean by that? Doesn’t he want to take even just breakfast with me? Taking my pillow over, I am astonished to see that the blond guy is sitting on my bed with my new Toshiba Laptop in his hands. Oh man, he is so adorable.

Then his voice again “I’ve fixed it” Wow, now I’m starting to remember, so I have taking advantage of this sweetheart, maybe I am not that miserable. Wow, he has fixed my computer. When I’m trying to turn it on, disappointment. I’m thinking that there is a reason that this guy is so cute. He can’t just have both  beauty and brains.  But then again his voice “You didn’t press the right button, try the green one! “ Oh my God, now I am really messy! Why did I drink that much last night?
